Introduction
This is a short, condensed micro learning course that I created to teach Paul NGK without having to learn all the basic movements and forms.
One of my grandmasters said that NGK is built on the basic techniques and the forms don’t matter as much. All my teachers tend to use just a few techniques from the basic techniques when they apply the art. In fact, there are some techniques whether from the list of basic techniques or forms which I have never seen them use, or even explain how to use.
The six basic training sequences are taken from the list of eighteen basic techniques. Once you are familiar with the six sequences you can mix and match to create your own sequences. You can even throw in some of the techniques from the balance of techniques.
Two of the sequences contain a total of five of the seven single hand point hand training sequence. So the six training sequences provide the foundation for learning this advanced part of NGK.
Content
Basic Body Structure
This training teaches how to configure the requirements of the NGK body structure. This is a type of stake like training that includes in isometric tension and sudden burst of power.
You can hold each posture for a count of ten before changing to the next posture. You can increase the duration as you get more used to holding each posture.
Six Diamond Techniques Sequences
The Chinese characters for the exercises from which the Six Diamond Techniques Sequences are taken from can be translated as Eighteen Vajra or Eighteen Diamond. I think Diamond is a suitable translation because these exercises are considered as follow-up exercises to be performed after Basic Body Structure training.
In Basic Body Structure training you learn how to use your body to tense / relax, compress / release power. In the Six Diamond Techniques Sequences you learn how to use the basic body structure to perform NGK techniques with speed and power.
For starters, we can train the technique by first turning to the right, execute the technique, turn back to face the centre, and then turn to the left to execute the left side of the technique.
We can also train the technique by turning to the right, perform the technique, turn back to the centre, perform the technique again to the right, turn back to the centre, repeat a third time, turn back to the centre. Then we turn to the left and perform the technique three times.
Once you become familiar, you can train the techniques in four directions. You can also begin to mix and match techniques from the different sequences.
Finally, you can train the techniques with a partner. You can also take up strength training and conditioning with a partner or using tools (the Basic Body Structure is already a form of iron body training!) to enhance your ability to execute the techniques.
1st sequence
Rolling blocks, turn lead upper corner block, left palm strike
2nd sequence
Rolling blocks, turn lead vertical smash, rear straight punch

Supplementary Training
You can complement and enhance the practice of power generation by learning the three basic long pole techniques.
