Awareness & Intent

One of the purpose of training form is to develop your awareness through the use of intent. This is easy to understand but to bring forth in your form play is not that straightforward.

However, if you keep at it your awareness will become heightened over time and your intent will strengthen.

Once you can bring out your intent your rendition of the form will start to transform. Movements will look more alive, infused with a sense of technical correctness as if you are applying it against an invisible opponent.

The hard work lies in building up the foundation. Learn, practice, refine – these are the three words that should guide your journey.
