Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

It is common to think of Tai Chi fajing as needing to be developed. However, in the Tai Chi that I teach it is more the case of Tai Chi fajing needing to be revealed because it is already in all of us.
Last night I met someone who was interested in taking Tai Chi lessons. This person, X, was no newbie. He has a background in Wushu, Wing Chun, Tai Chi and Bagua. It was interesting to meet someone who knows something of what he is looking for.
One talk led to another and to fajing. I got X to put his right arm up and I placed both hands on it. I asked him to try to fajing me but he could not move me.
I asked X to try again. This time I asked him to fix a certain pressure in his right arm first and hold on to it. Then whilst maintaining the pressure I did a little trick to get his intention to control his body instead of letting his natural inclination to resist control his mind.
When his intention was clearly detached from resisting I asked him to move forward and he could easily send me back.
This testing was a demonstration of what I mean by all of us having the ability to fajing in us. To Master Tai Chi Today what the student should then do is to be like famous artist and sculptor Michelangelo and free his body from the obstacles that is holding back his ability to fajing naturally.
